A NEW and delicious product has become available on the local market. Called Simply Green Tomatoes, it is a reproduction of a tradional Italian antipasto dish of preserved green tomatoes. The tomatoes are grown in Victoria by Marilyn Lanyon at Terralea Farms, which has been a big-scale tomato grower for the canning industry for many years. She developed the recipe for friends and was persuaded to release them commercially. The are available in a 100g clear pack, a 100g gift pack and a 700g food service pack. Retail packs are available from Claremont Fresh, Boatshed Fresh Markets, Qcumbers Bicton, Glen Forrest Gourmet, Simply Beautiful Biscuits, Crave stores in Belmont, Floreat, Leederville and Subiaco, and the Grocer in Nedlands. Expect to pay around $10.
